In a decade, Bitcoin will replace the domain of the US dollar and will become the standard currency that supports the international economy, according to the capitalist of multimillionaire risk, Tim Draper.
“10 years, something like that. It can be a little less,” Draper said in an ample interview of Spotlight with Coindesk.
Draper reiterated his prediction that Bitcoin will increase to $ 250,000 by the end of 2025, and that after a decade it will be “infinite against the dollar because there will be no dollar.”
“Once I can buy my food, my clothes, my refuge, pay my taxes, everything in Bitcoin and it is a better way to raise taxes. Surely there will be no reason to hold on to any [dollars] And Bitcoin will be the main source of possessing wealth, ”said Draper.
“The good news here is that banks can now maintain their Bitcoin and their Fiat currency … but you don’t want to be in line in banks that try to get their dollars to put them in Bitcoin when there is a transformation.”
Draper warned that there will be an execution in fiduciary banks and a global change to the Bitcoin standard as confidence in governments decreases and decentralized technology replaces the traditional banking system. This was especially evident when Silicon Valley Bank (“SVB”) collapsed in March 2023.
“I received calls from 15 companies, portfolio companies, and everyone said I can’t make payroll,” Draper said.
“Then, every treasure of all the companies I financial, recommend that you have Bitcoin together with Fiat in the banks, so that when there are bank failures, or if people stop taking Fiat, then they can make payroll anyway.”
The transport of SVB was followed by the collapse of Bank Signature and preceded by the liquidation of Silvergate Bank. The three financial institutions had links with the digital asset industry and were affected by the “infection effects” after the failed Criptographic Exchange FTX, according to the Federal Corporation of Deposit Insurance. But cryptographic companies have found evidence that their death was accelerated by a covert government campaign, known as Operation Chokepoint 2.0, after a previous effort of the government to cut the controversial but legal companies of the bank.
Draper sees Bitcoin as a better technology and software that will replace banks and currency issued by the government. At an early age, he learned that there is a precedent in the United States for the monetary crisis when his father gave him a confederate bill of one million dollars that essentially was not worth it.
“The Confederates lost the war against the union, so there was great inflation in confederate money and people paid a million dollars for only $ 1 of union money,” Draper said. “Indeed, we are going through a similar moment now.”
Bitcoin vs. Stablecoins
Draper is a Maximalist from Bitcoin who believes that Stablecoins is a bridge for Bitcoin that will incorporate people to use digital currencies, but ultimately they are as defective as the governments that sanction them.
“The stable are subject to inflation. They will inflate if the government prints too much money. They will get less and less over time, while Bitcoin is not subject to that,” Draper said.
Although the global tariff policies of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, go against Draper’s belief in free trade, accelerate their prediction that the US dollar will weaken. The dollar index has fallen almost 8% to date to 99.96, its lowest level from April 2022. It is widely speculated that the Trump administration analyzes ways to devalue the dollar even more to make US exports more competitive globally competitive. However, Draper has the hope that the United States government will negotiate the encumbrances for commercial partners to buy more US goods and resume an open market.
Within the United States, Draper has more confidence on national technological innovation now than the Bag and Securities Commission and other federal regulators are “more open to creativity” and have moved away from the practice of regulation by the application.

As for artificial intelligence, the most cynical programmers warn that AI will eventually discard humans as simple carbon bodies with limited use as energy sources, but Draper is still the perpetual optimistic.
“I think humans are going to adapt,” he said.
When artificial intelligence replaces human work, Drapers trusts people will find new jobs with their new productivity, they will have a greater impact and “win the quality of life.” Draper believes that humans will eventually merge with AI through embryo programming and linking human brains with Wifi and other technologies.
“I think it will be incredibly surprising for someone today who is still alive in 50 years, because they will be looking back and will say: ‘God, those poor people, all were trapped on earth, just the earth,” Draper said. “They had to ask their phone knowledge instead of anticipating the need for knowledge.”
