- BMW has launched an espresso coffee machine built around a motorcycle engine
- The great coffee boxer is handmade, with a dual boiler and a rotating pump
- It costs € 7,900 (about $ 9,100 / £ 6,900 / au $ 14,000), and only 80 will be done
If your usual morning coffee does not give you the same impulse you used to and your wallet is weighing it, BMW has just launched the express coffee machine for you. The Big Coffee Boxer, made in collaboration with the Coffee Experts of ECM Manufacture, is built with a BMW R 18 Big Boxer motorcycle engine, and will undoubtedly be a conversation closet.
In terms of specifications, Big Coffee Boxer is up to the best express coffee machines. It has dual boilers, which means that you can throw an express coffee and steam milk at the same time, and professional grade vapor and hot water valves.
There is no color touch screen here. Instead, the boxer has two pressure dials (one for each boiler) and a discreet shooting counter to help you see when it is time to align the machine, which is essential to eliminate waste and maintain its coffee taste as good as possible.
There is an optional pre -infusion (a process that gently precedes ground coffee before applying the complete preparation pressure), can choose between three elaboration temperatures and use a rechargeable water tank or a direct water supply if you do not oppose a place of plumbing.
Here is the capture
Naturally, none of this is cheap. The new Breville Oracle Dual Boiler boiler boiler elevated last week when it was launched with a price of Au $ 4,499 (about $ 3,000 / £ 2,200), but the boxer makes that positively affordable as each BMW brand compresso machine will cost € 7,900 (around $ 9,100 / £ 6,900 / AU $ 14,000).
To put that in context, if you currently pay $ 4 every day for a coffee to take, it will take about six years and three months to compensate for the cost of the boxer (not including beans). You will also have to decide quickly, because only 80 of the machines will be made.
If that is a little out of your budget, take a look at our rounding of the best coffee makers and the best bean coffee machines, all of which are somewhat more affordable (if not so elegant).
