QUETTA:
The BNP has demanded the immediate release of Baloch women detained by promising to continue their protests until their demands are accepted.
Going to a demonstration in Quetta on Friday, the president of BNP, Akhtar Mengal, said that the people of Baloch had suffered 75 years of injustice, declaring that the party would not retreat until its legitimate demands were recognized and addressed.
“The prisons are not new to us. We will not go back,” said Mengal.
He criticized the government for stopping the long march of BNP in Lak Pass, Mastung and except for the party that enters Quetta.
The BNP-M rally attracted a large multitude of followers who stirred the flags, singing in support of the rights of Baloch and reaffirming their commitment to continue with the protests nationwide.
The public meeting arrived immediately after a series of demonstrations that demand the recovery of missing persons.
Strict security arrangements were established throughout the city, with a strong police presence. Despite a tense atmosphere, the event remained Pacific and concluded without incident.
