BNP-M protest continues the seventh day

QUETTA:

The Baluchistan-Mengal National Party (BNP-M) has continued its long march for the seventh consecutive day in the Mastung area of Lak Pass, with the head of the Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal party leading the demonstration.

The protest aims to demand the release of Mahrang Baloch, president of the Committee for missing persons, along with several other political workers who have allegedly undergo forced disappearances.

The leaders of several political parties, including the central leader of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Salman Akram Raja and the main politician Sardar Latif Khosa, have joined the sitting to express solidarity with the cause of BNP-M. They condemned the alleged disappearances in Baluchistan and urged the government to take immediate measures to recover missing persons.

Meanwhile, Internet services remain suspended in Quetta and several other parts of Baluchistan. Official sources have cited security concerns such as the reason for the interruption.

However, BNP-M leaders and protesters believe that the Internet blackout is an attempt to suppress the coverage of the ongoing demonstration.

Meanwhile, the Jamhoori Wattan Party (JWP) has also expanded its support in the long run of Mengal. The party leader, Nawabzada Gohram Bugti, has announced a demonstration of his hometown of Dera Bugti to Quetta and Mastung, scheduled for Friday (today), further amplifying the pressure on the authorities to address the issue of missing persons.

Last Friday, the BNP-M announced a long march from Wadh to Quetta to protest against the arrests of the committee and activists of the Balochjehti (Byc) committee, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sammi Deen Baloch, as well as the police offensive in his sitting in Quetta. Sammi was released on Tuesday.
