Boars Wild invades the densely populated neighborhood

Rawalpindi:

The residents of Jhanda Chichi, a densely populated neighborhood located between the VIP movement areas in Rawalpindi, live with fear as the wild boars have begun to brush the area freely. According to the locals, these wild pigs often appear in groups or alone, especially after sunset, and stay until dawn.

They have repeatedly attacked children, women and pedestrians, causing injuries. Animals feed on domestic food waste thrown in empty plots, cemeteries and alleys.

Due to the growing fear, many residents, particularly women and children, avoid leaving alone. In some cases, wild boars have even been wandering down the main roads.

Ecular witnesses Malik Shehbaz Latif declared that the animals have emigrated from the Ayub Park area through the banks of the Nullah Leh.

Previously, they would return in the morning, but now they have made permanent houses in the foliage covered with the old cemetery of Jhanda Chichi.

The locals say that stray dogs only bark pigs from a distance, but never involve them. Residents fear that without immediate intervention, the population of wild boar can double or triple within a year.

Meanwhile, the area of more than 70,000 people continues to face other civic problems. Residents have not drunk water for two months despite multiple complaints.

The electric lines hang dangerously low among the alleys, which raises severe risks, especially during the rain. Recently, a resident was electrocuted due to these exposed cables.

The locals, including Malik Shehbaz, Sharif Qureshi and Arif Shah, have urged the district administration and civil defense to take quick measures.
