Newly released body camera footage showed the immediate aftermath of Tiger Woods’ car accident in Florida last week that resulted in the golf legend’s shocking arrest for DUI.
Woods was involved in a two-vehicle accident in which his car rolled onto the driver’s side, forcing him to escape through the passenger door.
In the video, Woods, kneeling, tells an officer he was looking at “my phone and all of a sudden, boom.”

The officer then appeared to caress Woods’ back before telling Woods that a doctor would “look him over.” The officer said he “didn’t feel anything” on Woods’ back. The officer then spoke to a bystander who said Woods “hit the trailer.” The officer then spoke to the driver who was hit, who told him he was fine.
“I was getting ready to turn,” the other driver said. “And he was coming fast. I don’t think he was looking, that’s the thing.”
The driver said Woods hit the trailer that was attached to the back of his vehicle. The officer then ordered the cars on the road to turn around as they were ready to close the road.
Woods was arrested for driving under the influence, as police said he showed signs of impairment. Woods made “triple zeros” on a breathalyzer, but two hydrocodone pills were found in his pocket.

The 15-time Major champion announced earlier this week that he would “seek treatment” following the accident.
“I know and understand the severity of the situation I find myself in today. I will be stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary so I can prioritize my well-being and work toward a lasting recovery,” Woods said in a statement posted Tuesday on social media. “I am committed to taking the time necessary to return to a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and I ask for privacy for my family, loved ones, and myself at this time.”
Woods pleaded not guilty to DUI. He was also charged with property damage and refusal to submit to a test.

The accident came just days after Woods returned to some aspect of competitive golf after rupturing his Achilles tendon last year while playing in the TGL final on Monday. The accident occurred 13 days before the Masters, which Woods will now officially miss. It was not yet known if he would play before the crash.
