Punjab Minister of Information, Bokhari Azma, responded on Thursday to the criticisms of the leaders of the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP) about the controversial project of the channel, advising them to add their questions to the president of Pakistan instead of the main minister of Punjab.

When reacting to the recent press conference of the PPP leader, Chaudhry Manzoor, Bokhari said it would be more appropriate for the PPP to first solve its internal disagreements about the property of water resources before blaming Punjab, said Express News.

“Sindh says it is his water, and you [PPP] Let’s say it belongs to Punjab. The PPP must first decide among them who is really water, “he said.

Bokhari questioned whether Chaudhry Manzoor, a Punjab resident, was willing to defend the province. “Can’t you fight Punjab’s rights while living in Punjab?” She asked.

In addition, he claimed that the politicization of channels has historically been Sindh’s tactics, but insisted that Punjab does not follow such a approach. “Before stating that you are with farmers, verify if the farmers are even with you,” he added.

Punjab Minister emphasized that the province does not usurpe the rights of anyone or allow others to violate on their own. “Punjab has always acted as the older brother,” he said.

Reiterating its position on the matter, Bokhari said that, instead of criticizing the CM of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz or the provincial government, PPP leaders should direct their concerns to President Zardari. “The PPP should refrain from dragging internal disagreements to the media,” he added.
