The American boxer Devin Haney pointed to Sylvester Stallone for the recent commentary on the current state of boxing.
Stallone, three times nominated for the Academy Award, received praise of criticism for his interpretation of the renowned Boxer of Philadelphia Rocky Balboa in the iconic cinematographic franchise.
Recently a video appeared on the social networks that shows Stallone holding the gloves he used in the mid -1970s during the filming of the original sports play. In a moment of the video, Stallone suggested that the gloves were identical to those used by professional boxers in the 70s.

“They don’t even allow them today because they are very dangerous. But that’s what they used when I made the movie. They weigh just six ounces, they are kings and they are literally lethal. I still have them. Because it is a time when things were more difficult.

Haney did not agree with Stallone’s statement and shared his refutation through X, previously known as Twitter.
“The guy does not distinguish a hook from a hook, and he had the impudence of talking about the fact that times are easier in boxing as if it weren’t just an actor … friend, Rocky’s movies were not real,” Haney wrote.
The surprise defeat last April against Ryan García marked Haney’s most recent appearance in a professional fight.
Haney, who is also known as “The Dream” finally presented a legal resource against Garcia after learning that Garcia failed multiple drug tests before the fight.
Later, officials canceled Garcia’s victory and declared that the fight was without competition.
