Marchand scored in the last stages of the game, limiting his history effort.

In the victory over the Maple Leafs, the NHL said Marchand became the first player to win five winning games of all the winners against the same team. Marchand was with the Boston Bruins when the team won four 7 games against Toronto. Florida’s victory was his fifth.

“I grew up a fan of the Leafs and enjoy playing against the Leafs,” Marchand said after the game. “I enjoy interacting with fans. It’s fun. I don’t take me too seriously. I love to make fun, and I love to make fun of people. If you can’t take it, then I will enjoy the moments I have.

“When I come here and boo me, I’m fine. I’m going to show it. I’m going to enjoy that.”

Florida acquired the veteran of the Bruins in the deadline for exchange, and it was for the additional impulse when it was the postseason.

The chief coach of the Panthers, Paul Maurice, also kept his winning streak of game 7. He has 6-0 in game 7 as a chief coach.

“Games 7 are for players,” Maurice said. “It doesn’t matter how their hands feel. It doesn’t matter how your body feels. It doesn’t matter how well you run. If it’s how comfortable you are in difficult situations, then you have a chance.”
