The defensive line of the Florida Gators, Brendan Bett, was expelled from the defeat of Saturday night against southern Florida after spitting one of his opponents.
The crucial moment came in the winning impulse of the Bulls game. Bett found himself face to face with the offensive line of southern Florida, Cole Skinner, and spit directly to the player’s facial mask.

Bett was immediately expelled from the game with 2:07 to play and the Gators were evaluated a penalty of 15 yards. Seven plays later, Nico Gramatica nailed a 20-yard field goal to give southern Florida the 18-16 victory.
Bett is a second year student of a red shirt who transferred from Baylor. He played in 10 games for the Bears in 2023, but was in a red shirt during the 2024 season. He saw some action from the bank at Texas Bowl. He played in 15 defensive snapshots against Long Island last week.
South Florida won another great victory. The team eliminated No. 25 Boise State last week, 34-7. This time, Florida was team number 13 in the nation.

The Bulls Campo Marshal, Byrum Brown, had 263 air yards and a touchdown pass in La Victoria. He also collected 66 yards on the ground. Eight different receptors from South Florida had captures.
The Field Marshal of the Gators, DJ Lagway, had 222 air yards, a touchdown pass and an interception. Jadan Baugh added 93 yards on the floor. Florida rose a point at the beginning of the last quarter. But the team stepped on consecutive units.

The spit incident is the second that has captured the attention of the world of football. The star of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Carter, was expelled from the NFL opening on Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys for spitting in Dak Prescott.
