Brittney Griner whistled as a double technician, expelled after contacting the referee

Brittney Griner went to the locker room before the rest of his teammates from Atlanta Dream on Wednesday.

The center of Atlanta was expelled after an referee whistled her for two technical offenses in the second half. Griner was penalized for physically discussing and contacting a game officer.

The dispute began after Griner tried to ensure a rebound that was played by Dallas Wings Guard Haley Jones. A fault was assigned to Griner, and then approached the referee.

The verbal exchange with the rapid official led to a technical foul. But shortly after the call, Griner seemed to hit the referee, which immediately attracted the second coach. According to the WNBA rules, a player is automatically eliminated from a game once he receives two technical fouls.

Griner quickly began to walk to the tunnel after being expelled. The game ended with four points and four rebounds.

Griner has appeared in 25 games so far in his first season with the dream. The WNBA champion spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Phoenix Mercury before signing with Atlanta this past season.

He entered Wednesday’s game with an average of 10.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Those numbers represent career jumps for 10 times all-star of the WNBA.

Griner came out when Atlanta had a thin advantage of Razor over Dallas. The dream managed to extend the leadership in the last quarter, but the Wings responded with an 11-2 race.

Dream Naz Hillmon striker made a triple triple in recent seconds of the game to seal the 88-85 victory.

Paige Bueckers, the number 1 team in the April WNBA draft, finished the contest with 21 leading points in the team.

The victory over the wings brought the sleep record to 16-11. Atlanta Sails only the New York Liberty defender champion in the classification of the Eastern Conference.
