The tension between six times Pro Bowler Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns has been relieved. ESPN reported that Garrett and the Browns have reached an agreement on an extension of the contract that links it with Cleveland in the predictable future.
The agreement includes just over $ 123 million in guaranteed money and will pay Garrett an average annual salary of $ 40 million, according to the report. These figures represent the greatest amount of money that has been paid to a fourth in the history of the NFL. The Browns did not confirm the financial terms of the agreement. However, the franchise announced that the extension of the contract was for four years.

If Garrett plays through the entire extension of the contract, he would use a Browns uniform during the 2030 season. The sources told ESPN that a non -trade clause was written in the new contract.
The agreement arrives only two days after reports arose saying that Brown’s owner Jimmy Haslam had rejected a request to meet with Garrett about his commercial demand.

Last month, Garrett informed the Browns of his desire to be changed to another team. Garrett later asked to meet Haslam. Instead of sitting with Garrett, he was redirected to the Browns General Manager, Andrew Barry, according to Cleveland.com.

In a statement announcing his commercial application, Garrett said he preferred to land with a contender next season. “The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete and win a Super Bowl,” he said.
Garrett then doubled those feelings and concluded that they were not “aligned” with the direction of the franchise.

“I have a lot of love for Cleveland, but it’s always for me to have been [competing] For championships, winning those great games and winning Lombardis, “Garrett told NFL Network in February.” We have not had the opportunity to do it. That’s all I am asking. “
The Browns ended last season with a 3-14 record.
The Browns’ brass insisted that they would not change the defensive player of the year of NFL 2023. Chief coach Kevin Stefanski said previously that Garrett is “part of the present. It is part of the future.”
