Buckingham Palace shares the message from Queen Camilla to Mark Big Day

Buckingham Palace has launched Queen Camilla’s message to commemorate the 85th anniversary of Operation Dynamo in Dunkirk.

The Palace shared the message in the handles of social networks with the legend: “A message from the queen who marks the 85th anniversary of the Dynamo operation in Dunkerque, in honor of the civil contribution to the war effort.”

The queen’s message says: “Today and together with the nation, the king and I would like to remember the heroic and unprecedented civil war efforts of the Dynamo operation on his 85th anniversary.

“For nine days, an eclectic collection of sea people, Ferry teachers, hands of barges, fishermen and children, with their small ships, achieved the great evacuation of more than 338,000 troops fighting their backs to the sea in Dunkirk.”

Queen Camilla also said: “My father, who was between his number and transported home safely 85 years ago, remembered walking to an cement ship to find shelter and rest in his wheel house.”

“He pointed out in his memoirs that ‘the ship was commanded by a Guardiamarina who looked like twelve, assisted by an eighty -year -old swamp,” Camilla continued.

“I know that my father, along with his comrades of the British expeditionary force and the allied armies who were lucky to find a safe step, would be grateful today beyond the words for this lifeguard,” he concluded.
