Bushra Bibi, wife of the founder of PTI Imran Khan and the former first lady, has approached the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC) who seeks better facilities in Adiala Jail, where she currently meets a seven -year sentence in the case of £ 190 million.
Through his lawyers, Bushra Bibi presented a petition requesting the court to order the prison authorities to provide improved services under the rules of Pakistan prison, 1978.
In her plea, the former First Lady declared that she had resided in the home of the prime minister during her husband’s mandate and, due to her previous life and public status, she had legal right to certain comforts and prison facilities.
The petition claimed that despite submitting a formal request to the Superintendent of the Adial prison, no measures were taken.
In addition, she argued that her husband, Imran Khan, was also declared eligible to improve jail conditions while being detained in the same installation. He asked the Court to instruct the authorities to fulfill their legal responsibilities in a similar way.
Bushra Bibi has appointed the Federal Government, the Superintendent of the Adial Prison and the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad as respondents in the case.
What is the case of £ 190 million?
