Butchers with great demand ahead of eid

Islamabad:

With Eidul Azha less than a week away, the demand for qualified butchers in the territory of the capital of Islamabad (ICT) has increased significantly, driven by the peak in the slaughter of sacrifice animals during the Islamic festival.

While some residents have already bought sacrifice animals, many are still looking for proper cattle. In this scenario, the paper of the butchers is considered vital to cut the meat. Taking into account their importance and demand, professional butchers have also increased meat preparation rates compared to last year.

Khawar Shehzad, a butcher who also directs a meat store in the Islamabad sector, I-10, said Eidul Azha is a special Islamic festival after the sacrifice of animals at mass level, highlighting that everyone looked for professional butchers to cut their meat, which caused a great demand.

“In Eidul Azha, everyone looks for a professional and skilled butcher to cut their meat in a way of quality; it is our high season,” he said.

Shehzad shared her killing rates for this year, noting that cows killing the first day of EID is priceless, while the rate falls to RS20,000 on the second day.

For the third day, the cost ranges between RS15,000 and RS18,000, depending on the demand.

The charges for goat and sheep sacrifices vary from RS6,000 to RS7,000, he added. Other butchers, such as Asmat Ullah, also quoted these same prices, emphasizing high demand.

While residents of the territory of the capital of Islamabad (ICT) are excited about the next Eidul Azha festival, but have also expressed concern about the increase in animals prices and pronounced charges for butchers.

Tariq Mahmood, a resident of the same sector who bought his animal to kill Eid, said he was trying to obtain the reserve of a professional butcher for his preparation of meat, who has high rates and high demand, and added: “If I can not reserve one, I will go with a season.”

According to Tariq, seasonal butchers are more or less efficient and skilled, sharing the experience of their previous year. Despite the facts that the demand for professional and qualified butchers is remarkably high, people somehow managed to find the right person to sacrifice their animal.

To help meet the growing demand, many butchers from all over the country also travel to Islamabad during EID. These visiting butchers often charge slightly lower rates and offer a practical solution to the scarcity of qualified labor in the city during the EID.

Their presence also gave them the opportunity to improve their profits of what they typically have in their cities of origin.
