Cain Velásquez sentenced: The Ex-UFC star has imprisonment for 2022 shots


The former UFC star, Cain Velásquez, was sentenced to five years in prison on Monday after no disputes were declared in a 2022 shooting in California.

Velásquez will receive 1,283 days as credit for the time fulfilled, which amounts to approximately three years, according to KTVU. It will serve another year and a half in prison.

He shared regret for the shooting before a judge transmitted the sentence.

“I agree to accept any prayer,” he said. “In the future, I will try to give a great example for all. Of all this, I want safe feelings for my family and the community.”

The former champion did not oppose an assault contest for serious crime and firearms as part of a negotiated agreement with the Santa Clara Clear Prosecutor’s Office, said District Prosecutor Jeff Rosen in August. The premeditated murder charges against Velásquez were withdrawn as part of the agreement.

Velásquez was arrested in February 2022 for attempted murder and multiple firearms charges after the police said he shot a truck that took the man who claimed that he sexually assaulted his 4 -year -old son. Later, the man was identified as Harry Goularte.

The prosecutors said that Velásquez was chasing a truck that transported man through busy streets in the San José area. The authorities said the persecution covered around 11 miles.

Former mixed martial artist wounded the stepfather of man in the incident, authorities said.

Velásquez won his first UFC heavyweight championship in 2012 by defeating Junior Dos Santos. Velásquez successfully defended his title twice.

He had a brief career in wrestling at the WWE and the AAA of Mexico.
