Indiana Fever’s star, Caitlin Clark, said Thursday that she will not participate in the WNBA stars game and the festivities around her after she seemed to aggravate an injury to the groin.
Clark announced the decision in a statement through the team.

“I am very excited that Indy is host of WNBA All-Star this weekend. I want to thank the host committee of Indianapolis and all the people who have put an endless job during the past year to build this event,” he said. “I know this will be the best All-Star so far.
“I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say that I cannot participate in the 3 -point contest or in the star game. I have to rest my body. I will still be in Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and I am anxious to help Sandy (Bondello) to train our team for a victory.
“I can’t wait to see them all out there.”

Clark suffered the injury in the waning moments of the victory of the Connecticut Fever on Tuesday night. It seemed to adjust its upper leg in a bounce pass to Kelsey Mitchell.
The injuries have been the main story for Clark this season. Almost a dozen games was lost due to injuries, but still managed to lead the vote of fans for the game of stars.
It is not clear how long Clark will be out.
Indiana is 12-11 after the defeat on Wednesday night against New York freedom.

The team will return to action on July 22, along the way against New York.
