Dijonai Carrington found himself in the headlines last season when he accidentally hit Caitlin Clark in the eye,

When Christine Brennan of USA Brennan asked him about it, he became a war of words.

The National Association of Women’s Basketball players issued a scathing statement, calling Brennan by name for an interview with Carrington that the union said he fed online “racist vitriol, homophobic and misogynist.”

Brennnan asked Carrington, who was in the Connecticut sun at that time, if he intended to hit Clark in the eye after the video, and if she and Marina Mabry, who recently pushed Clark to the ground in a game, made fun of the incident later. Carrington denied that both were the truth.

However, another of Clark’s rivals, Dewanna Bonner, faced Brennan only a few minutes after her round trip with Carrington, Brennan revealed in her new book “in his game: Caitlin Clark and the revolution in women’s sports.”

Bonner, who was Carrington’s teammate in the Sun at that time, approached Brennan saying that he had “attacked” and “not respected” Carrington. She used both accusations twice each.

Brennan said he tried to appear to Bonner, and even offered Bonner the opportunity to listen to his exchange, but Bonner apparently did not want part.

Brennan then said he sent a text message to the then chief coach of SUN, Stephanie White, now Clark coach with Indiana’s fever, to inform her of the situation, which called “Journalism 101”. He also said in the book that a WNBA official told him that his questions were “good.”

“Unfortunately, most of our players have zero idea what the real media exhibition is,” admitted the official Brennan, according to the author. “They do not know what real coverage is, they have been protected in the university and then reach the WNBA without knowing what the real questions are. Frankly, our players simply do not understand.”

Brennan said that Carrington also disagreed with journalists, including herself, the next day, claiming that they were “speaking S —” about Nalysa Smith, her partner who was in the fever. Brennan said that the other two reporters were simply discussing “a fever strategy that had just noticed in court.”

Smith faced Brennan, who told Smith that he said nothing negative, but Smith said he was “lying,” Brennan wrote in the book.

Bonner signed a one -year contract with the fever during the low season, but was resigned after it was reported that “he had no interest” in playing for them.
