At least eight high school volleyball teams in California have lost a team with a well -known transgender athlete.

The Unified School District of Jurupa (Jusd) confirmed that Patriot High School has lost its September 26 party to Jurupa Valley High School, which beats the Trans Hernández athlete. Both Patriot and Jurupa Valley are within the School District itself, the Unified School District of Jurupa (Jusd).

“We can confirm that the Patriot High School volleyball team will lose its September 26 match,” Jusd said in a statement to Pak Gazette Digital.

Patriot’s loss marked the first loss of Jurua Valley for a school within its own district.

Jurupa Valley saw three loss in a weekend in the Freeway Games Tournament on September 13, with Aquinas High School, Yucaipa High School and San Dimas High School refuse to play Juraup Valley.

Before that, Riverside Poly High School, Rim of the World High School, Orange Vista High School and Ab Miller High School lost in Juraupa Valley.

Three of the current and previous volleyball teammates of Hernández have filed a lawsuit against the Unified School District of Jurupa (Jusd), the Interscolastic Federation of California (CIF) and the Department of Education of California (CDE) for their experience sharing a team and a living room with the Trans athlete.

The two current teammates in the demand, the elderly Alyssa McPherson and Hadeel Hazameh, previously told Pak Gazette Digital who would move away from the team while participating the trans athlete. The third plaintiff is McPherson’s older sister, Madison, who graduated last year.

“The plaintiffs have been intimidated by an intentionally hostile environment created by the defendants in which school officials intimidated them to censor their objections to compete with and against a man and share intimate and private spaces with a man,” says the demand.

The McPherson family, which is identified as practicing Catholics, affirmed that “believes that God created human beings as men and women and that gender is a fixed characteristic that cannot be changed. His faith informs his understanding of human identity and shapes their points of view with respect to the importance of recognizing and honoring the distinctives of men and women as created by God,” according to the court documents.

Meanwhile, Hazameh and his family identify as practicing Muslims “whose religious obligations avoid [Hernandez] From exposing your hair or body to men, even when using a hijab. Guided by Islamic teachings, they believe that men and women have different biological differences, roles and responsibilities, which must be respected and confirmed “by court documents.

The Jusd has directly encouraged critics to address the problem with government officials and legislators, in a statement previously provided to Pak Gazette Digital, but the school district has not commented on the demand.

“The school districts do not write laws for the State of California, nor do they have the power to ignore or change them. However, as mainly agencies financed by the State, they must follow them. As these problems develop in our courts and the media, any defense on these matters must be addressed to state and federal officials elected to make laws and policies that affect public education,” the declaration is read.

A CDE spokesman told Pak Gazette Digital: “The California Department of Education cannot comment on this matter, since we cannot comment on pending litigation.”

The CIF has not responded to Pak Gazette Digital Response requests to demand.

The Office of the Governor of California Gavin Newsom provided a statement to Pak Gazette Digital in response to the complaints of athletes and parents, which suggests that the responsibility falls to the CIF, CDE and state legislature, but not of it.

“CIF is an independent non -profit organization that governs the sports of high school. The California Department of Education is a separate constitutional office. None of the two is under the authority of the governor,” reads the statement.

“CIF and the CDE have declared that they follow the existing state law, a law that was approved in 2013 and signed by Governor Jerry Brown (no Newsom) and in line with 21 other states. For the law to change, the legislature would need to send to the governor a bill. They have not done so.”
