Tennessee Titans’s rookie field marshal, Cam Ward, caused a physical altercation with veteran defensive Tackle Jeffery Simmons that led the team to need to break them.
But the first general selection in the NFL 2025 draft told journalists that this is what the team needed.
“Jeff is strong as S —“, said Ward, through ESPN. “It was fun, and I think it was what we needed. We love to compete, only with me and Jeff, and I am excited to have that man as my teammate.”

The incident occurred after Ward launched a touchdown to the open receiver Calvin Ridley, and when he went to celebrate, he stopped against Simmons to make fun of him with his characteristic “Zombieland” celebration, something for which Simmons is known after making great defensive plays.
Simmons didn’t like it a little, pushing Ward in the mask with both hands.

That caused the offensive line of the Titans to quickly hurry to protect their field marshal, including the left Tackle Dan Moore Jr.
“Absolutely not,” Moore said when asked if someone can play quartback, according to ESPN. “That goes without saying.”
But this garbage size between Ward and Simmons is something that has prevailed since they reached the same field together.
“I get here, and he is close to the first one I’m ready to talk,” said Ward. “He is the first one that comes in my head every day in practice.”

The chief coach of the Titans, Brian Callahan, who made the team out after the skirmish of practice, acknowledged that it is wrong to play the field marshal as Simmons did. However, it does not seem to import the jokes among teammates.
“If the field marshal voluntarily enters the fray like that, then that is also in it,” Callahan said.
Simmons added: “It is a training camp and the spirits explode. Respect for our offensive for having the return of the field marshal. At the end of the day, we are family and we move from it.”
Ward is going to experience much more than Simmons garbage in its first year in the NFL, and maybe the three times Tackle of Pro Bowl is trying to prepare it for those situations during the regular season.

We will see if Ward will return to the Denver Broncos on September 7 while making his debut in the regular NFL season.
