Karachi:
Unlike the country’s official educational boards, Cambridge International Examinations has started, for the first time, the process of showing response scripts to Pakistani students.
In a given step according to the principles of transparency, the students of O and A Level can now see their online response scripts and, after reviewing them, deciding whether to request the scrutiny of their copies. In particular, the process of seeing response scripts will be completely free.
This movement was announced by the Cambridge International country manager in Pakistan, Uzma Yousuf, during his visit to Karachi while talking with media representatives. The Marketing Communication Manager of Cambridge, Arsalan Rabbani, was also present on the occasion.
It is worth noting that the rules of educational boards in all provinces, including Sindh, do not allow students to see their response sheets at the registration or intermediate level. Providing more details, Yousuf said that all schools affiliated with Cambridge have received access to copies of the exam for each subject of their enrolled students.
Now, any student who wants to see their scripts can visit their school and see them. If they consider it necessary, they can request the scrutiny. Yousuf said that this process will be completely free for students, and Cambridge will not charge rates of schools.
In response to a question, the country’s manager declared that Pakistan has the largest number of Cambridge students enrolled worldwide at level O and A, with the number that reaches up to 130,000. She revealed that the United States of America occupies second place in the number of students enrolled, followed by China, India and Dubai.
In addition, Yousuf said there are around 800 schools affiliated with Cambridge in Pakistan. Regarding the affiliation of specific government schools in Sindh with Cambridge, he mentioned that discussions have been made with the Minister of Education of Sindh, Sardar Shah.
According to reports, it has been decided that the first step will be to advance with the teacher’s training. In this sense, the Minister of Education, according to reports, said that there is an institution for teaching training in Sindh, which is a positive development for the progression of affiliation and integration with Cambridge.
