Nathanielle Morin, Canadian advisor to the Federal Minister of Women, issued a statement this week defending the participation of the advisor in women’s marathons as a transgender biological man.
Morin made reference to the recent executive order of President Donald Trump that prevents Trans athletes from competing in women’s sports and girls in the statement.
“I am aware that my participation in so many competitions will be discussed due to my medical history. The situation in the United States and the comments of certain politicians do not help,” Morin wrote.

“With all due respect to level I (competing (recreational amateur), the state of scientific research in the field (for the amateur recreational level) and the fact that I have submitted to a medical transition, I consider that I have legitimacy to participate in The correct category, unless the law forbids to do it.
Morin added that additional medical research will be considered as the advisor weighs if he continues to compete in women’s marathons.
On Tuesday, Morin did a position in X that addressed the state of the advisor as a trans marathon corridor.

“Trans people just want to integrate completely as their authentic self and be happy, in our society,” Morin wrote.
Morin competed more prominently in the 5 -kilometer Bouugebege race on February 4, 2024. There, Morin came first with a time of 25:32, winning the title of “faster woman” in all age categories.
Morin’s runner-up was a girl in the age category 10-12 who ran at 26:08, who would have come first if Morin had not competed.
If Morin competed in the men’s category, the transgender corridor would have come in the tenth place among all male participants.
