- We are one week after the new Canon Vlogging cameras
- Canon is causing two models for a presentation on March 26
- One is the Powershot V1, now available in Japan
Mark his calendars, Canon fans: the camera giant has published a teaser on social networks that shows not one but two new models of the V series, which will be presented in its entirety on Wednesday, March 26 at 6pm CET (10am PT / 1PM ET / 5PM GMT, which is 4am AES on March 27 in Australia).
The teaser comes with the subtitle “exciting things approach” and promises that the new cameras will be “the perfect new additions to their kit of kit.” As part of series V, they will be aimed at Vloggers and creators.
It is not too difficult to identify the camera to the left of the image, because we have seen it before: it is the Powershot V1 canon, which has already been thrown in Japan. It has a F2.8-4.5 lens of 16-50 mm with 3.1x optical zoom, a new 22.3mp stabilized sensor and 4K / 30P or 4K / 60P video support with a 1.4x harvest. It’s like a bigger brother for the Powershot G7X Mark III trend.
What we still do not know is the price outside of Japan. It is for sale for 148,500 Japanese yen there, which functions as approximately $ 1,000 / £ 800 / au $ 1,600, but it is unlikely that Canon will use a direct currency conversion. We should obtain precise global prices next Wednesday.
A launch, two cameras
The second camera, on the right, is more a mystery, although it is not a complete surprise. There has been rumors that the Powershot V1 would not be the only model of the V series that will be launched this year, although to date we have not heard much about a second device.
According to Canon’s rumors, this second model is scheduled to be the R50 V canon, an entry level mirror without Vloggers that could sell something in the region of $ 750 / £ 700 / au $ 1,300.
According to the information not confirmed that Canon’s rumors have, the suggestion is that the Eos R50 V canon will come with a new lens of its own, and (as you can guess by name) will be a version of APS-C Canon Eos R50. We can see some refined ergonomics, although we don’t have many other details.
All will be revealed next Wednesday and, of course, we will bring the news of the ads as they are made. Since the social networks teaser mentions Canon’s YouTube channel, it seems that the launch will also be broadcast online.
