In 2025, the Security Division of the federal police ensured comprehensive security for 14 sessions of the National Assembly, 15 sessions of the Senate, three joint sessions of Parliament, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament and 969 major national and international conferences and events.
To this end, at different times around 6,000 subordinate agents and personnel from the Security Division, the Traffic Police, the Special Unit and the Operational Police were continuously deployed in security tasks.
According to a police report, foolproof security was also provided during the arrival and departure of 19 international VVIP delegations, including foreign cricket teams, this year. Furthermore, to improve the security of Chinese citizens residing in the federal capital and ensure rapid emergency response, a “Panic Alert System” was introduced in the control room of the Special Protection Unit.
Separate and specialized security arrangements were put in place for key government buildings, embassies, diplomats and prominent national and international personalities in the federal capital.
During 2025, several reforms and initiatives were implemented within the Security Division. Under the “Good Luck Policy”, Naka Serena was upgraded in accordance with modern safety requirements to further strengthen and improve effectiveness.
An electrified fencing system was activated along the entire perimeter wall of the Diplomatic Enclave. Additionally, modern ANPR cameras have been installed at entry points to facilitate automated vehicle identification.
Open conferences were held with embassy security officials to discuss new security reforms and address challenges facing diplomatic missions. Integrated and effective security measures were also implemented to maintain law and order in the Red Zone and the Expanded Red Zone.
Following the creation of the Police Service Center “Kaskade”, 2,652 diplomats used the services of the federal police during the year, while 7,044 diplomats used the services for the issuance, renewal and learning permits of driving licenses.
During record promotions this year, Security Division officers were elevated to higher ranks and formally received their new insignia. To honor the services of Islamabad Police veterans, ‘Ghazi Week’ was celebrated, during which Ghazis were invited and given gifts as a token of gratitude and encouragement.
Under the Green Pakistan Campaign, tree plantation drives were carried out in the Diplomatic Enclave with the active participation of the police and the local community.
DIG Security Muhammad Atiq Tahir said that Islamabad Police Security Division is taking robust measures to ensure foolproof security for diplomats, national and international delegations, VIPs and sensitive facilities.
