ISLAMABAD:
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to accelerate the development of eight residential sectors in Islamabad, focusing on handing over fully developed plots to allottees in a timely manner.
Sector C-14 is at the forefront of these efforts, with over 200 one kanal plots generating over Rs 12 billion in revenue through auctions. Possession of these plots will be handed over to the owners once the last installment has been paid.
In a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Thursday, senior officials and board members discussed the progress of the ongoing projects.
The President emphasized the importance of accelerating work in Sector C-14, where 85 percent of the road infrastructure and 35 percent of the drainage and sewage systems have already been completed.
He assured that possession of the land would be granted before the last payment was made. Development work in Sector I-12 is also nearing completion with 78 per cent of the project completed and the remaining tasks expected to be completed soon. Similarly, significant progress has been made in sectors E-12/2 and E-12/1, where the majority of development work has been completed. During the meeting, legal and logistical challenges related to Built Property (BUP) in Sector E-12 were discussed and directives were issued to resolve these issues promptly.
The meeting also reviewed progress in Sectors C-15, C-16, C-13, D-13, E-13 and F-13. The President directed the State and Engineering Wings of the CDA to remove obstacles hindering development in these sectors and ensure rapid progress. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive review of all legal matters relating to BUP and pledged to visit sectors personally to monitor and address any challenges.
The CDA has fixed the price of each canal plot in sector C-14 at Rs 60 crore, and the payment will be made in installments over nine months.
This development initiative is expected to address the growing demand for housing in the federal capital and at the same time contribute significantly to the revenue stream of CDA.
