ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has come up with a plan to launch a double-decker tourist bus service in Islamabad.
PTDC Director General Aftabur Rehman Rana briefed the stakeholders here on Wednesday.
The briefing revealed that Islamabad Sightseeing double-decker tourist bus service will be launched in January 2025 under the joint venture of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) to promote tourism in the capital city of Islamabad.
Rana, during a PowerPoint presentation, informed that the government is committed to using all its energies to promote tourism in Pakistan to make it a major economic growth sector.
He said this new initiative will provide visitors to Islamabad with a unique experience to explore the key monuments and tourist sites of the capital city through a twice-daily guided tour with pick-up and drop-off service from major hotels in Islamabad.
In the second phase of this programme, PTDC in collaboration with the private sector will also launch weekend sightseeing tours of tourist sites around Islamabad including Taxila, Rohta Fort, Ketas Raj, Kallar Kahhar, Khewra, Takht-e- Bahi, Murree, Patriata and Peshawar.
