Charles Hoskinson De Ada wants Crypto’s tribal war, and is prepared to drop tokens at 37 million wallets in eight different blockchains to make peace.
“Every consensus, there is a new token … running saying: ‘Mine is better than yours,” Hoskinson said on stage at consensus 2025 in Toronto. “Nash’s balance is competitive, not cooperative.”
Using the next Midnight Airdrop, called Glacier Drop, for the cardan -centered side chain that is currently under construction, Hoskinson believes that it can do its part to bring peace to the crypto galaxy.
Glacier Drop mocked for the first time at the end of 2024, Hoskinson revealed new key details during his speech in consensus 2025, including the expansive approach of multiple Midnight chains.
Hoskinson confirmed that midnight tokens, both the night government token and the token of transactions focused on dust privacy, will be distributed to approximately 37 million users in eight main blockchains.
Unlike typical Token launches, midnight tokens will be completely distributed to the retail community with zero assignment to risk capitalists or early experts, Hoskinson said.
The founder of Cardano said on the stage that he dismissed the interest of risk capital in the launch of the Midnight file, saying that “he did not have time for his ponzi” and told them to “leave”, opting instead to give to the tokens in what he launched as an Airdrop pastor mainly without VC.
The recipients of the midnight sheets of the next fall of the glacier can keep them freely or discard them, explained Hoskinson, a deviation from the traditional cryptographic airdrops that generally reward to the insidents or first users exclusively.
“You already have it, congratulations,” said Hoskinson. “It’s yours. It’s your property.”
Glacier Drop underlines Hoskinson’s vision of “Cooperative Economics”, another central concept introduced during his speech.
The new Midnight economic model will allow developers from different blockchain networks to build decentralized hybrid applications without problems, which allows users to pay rates in their native tokens.
Ethereum developers pay ETH, Solana de Sol developers and Bitcoin developers in BTC, Hoskinson explained.
Validators in different chains can collaboratively maintain the network, winning rewards regardless of blockchain affiliation.
Midnight is currently in Testnet, with a Mainnet launch that is expected at the end of 2025.
Hoskinson sees the fall of the glacier, the cooperative economy and rational privacy as essential ingredients to welcome billions of conventional users who are expected, since large technological companies finally enter cryptography.
“This is the project with which I am having more fun at this time,” said Hoskinson, “because it is the project in which I can be a friend of all.”
