The coach of baseball of the coast of Carolina, Kevin Schnall, called the chief coach of Florida, Kevin O’Sullivan, during a press conference after the Schnall team advanced to the super regional round of the NCAA baseball tournament.
Schnall, whose team beat East Carolina, 1-0, did not like what happened in an altercation reported in the Chanticleers baseball complex.
According to the reports, O’Sullivan “incorporated” the tournament staff during a schedule change, and Schnall responded by calling him a “thug” in front of the reporters.

“What happened this morning in our field, another coach did not respect our associated announcement, who works as hard as anyone in our program. He did not respect our field team, who are the salt of the earth,” said Schnall. “These guys would do anything for our program. It is not right, and this must be mentioned.”
According to the reports, O’Sullivan was furious. The altercation video began to circulate on social networks.

The Gators ended up losing to the pirates, 11-4, and O’Sullivan initially refused to comment on the confrontation with Carolina’s coastal staff, saying that “he handled it correctly, you know, at the end of the game.”
On Monday, the Atlético de O’Sullivan and Gators, Scott Stricklin, published statements on the matter.
“Before the NCAA tournament game against East Carolina, I let my emotions take over me and channel that energy in a way that I shouldn’t have,” O’Sullivan said in his statement. “I want to sinitely apologize for my actions and behavior to the entire regional field of the NCAA of the coast of Carolina, East Carolina and Fairfield, the NCAA, including representatives of the Rick French and Mark Scalf site, as well as all Gator’s nations.

“I did not represent the University of Florida with the appropriate standard yesterday and assume responsibility for that.”
Stricklin added: “This afternoon, I met with Kevin O’Sullivan and I told him that his actions before the NCAA tournament game yesterday did not reach the expectations of how the Gatats treat people. One of the central values of our department is respect, and the unacceptable actions of coach O’Sullivan could not demonstrate that.
“On behalf of Florida Athletics, I want to apologize personally with all the impacted, including the representatives of the NCAA, the coast of Carolina and its staff, the east of Carolina and its team, as well as with Gator Nation.”
Schnall continued to explain his disappointment.

“This is a national champion coach who believes he can come here and try to intimidate people,” said Schnall. “Disappointed. Disappointed to someone who many coaches admire, so that he acts in that way.”
With the victory over ECU, Coastal Carolina will face the Auburn Tigers of the fourth sown in the best of three regional super to determine who will go to the World Series College in Omaha.
