Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Wednesday praised the resilience and patriotism of the people of Balochistan and vowed to thwart the hostile designs of Indian-sponsored proxies seeking to spread violence and disrupt development in the province.
The army chief interacted with the participants of the 18th National Workshop on Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The workshop focused on the socio-economic development of Balochistan and its strategic importance for Pakistan.
In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the CDF appreciated the steadfastness and national spirit of the people of Balochistan and underlined the vital role of the province in the long-term prosperity and development of Pakistan.
Addressing the participants, he highlighted the immense strategic and economic importance of Balochistan, describing it as pivotal for the future growth of the country.

Field Marshal Munir commended the extensive initiatives undertaken by the federal and provincial governments, emphasizing a people-centric approach aimed at improving socio-economic conditions and unlocking the vast economic potential of the province for the benefit of its residents.
The army chief also acknowledged the constructive role of civil society, particularly its efforts to counter propaganda and misinformation. He said civil society plays a crucial role in fostering national cohesion and promoting sustainable development, and emphasized the need to reject political agendas created to ensure inclusive growth and long-term prosperity in Balochistan.
Highlighting the security challenges faced by the province, Field Marshal Munir said Indian-sponsored proxies continue to spread violence and attempt to disrupt development in Balochistan. He reaffirmed that such “enemy designs will be thwarted” through firm and decisive action by the security forces to rid the province of terrorism and unrest.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, he said any violation of the country’s sovereignty or territorial integrity, whether direct or indirect, would receive a decisive response. He affirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully committed to safeguarding the lives, well-being and aspirations of the people.
The session concluded with an interactive question and answer segment, during which COAS and CDF responded to queries from participants and shared insights on ongoing efforts aimed at ensuring security, stability and development of Balochistan.
