
Celebrities and Cricket players expressed their pain for devastation caused by floods in northern Pakistan, urging the public and the authorities to intensify help efforts for affected people.
At least 344 people lost their lives in 48 hours such as floods, landslides and rain -related incidents, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). with ongoing rescue operations in the affected areas.
Only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 328 people perished and dozens were injured, while Gilgit Baltistan (GB) registered 12 deaths and Azad Jammu and Kashmira (AJK) 11 deaths.
The authorities fear that the toll can increase even more as search operations continue in severely impacted areas, since severe land floods and landslides in districts such as Buner, Swat, Mansehra, Bajaur and Batagram have destroyed houses, shops and infrastructure.
“Today, our land cries,” wrote the singer As Azhar on Instagram to express his pain for the loss of precious lives.
“Floods have taken homes, dreams and precious lives in Pakistan. My heart hurts for every mother, father and affected soul.”
“At times like these, we must become one, a nation, a heart, one hand that approaches the other. Please keep them in their prayers, and if you can, extend your support for reliable relief efforts.”
“Together, we can help heal what has been broken,” said Azhar, and appealed to the public to present and help those in need.

The famous model and actor Nadia Hussain also wrote: “Allah! Please, save our country with more disasters.”

Expressing sadness for the flood disaster, singer Umair Jaswal said: “My prayers are with deceased souls, and my heart is with families that support unimaginable pain.”
He appealed to the public to avoid traveling to the areas of the North in the coming days in view of security, as well as to relieve rescue and help efforts.
“We are together in prayer, support and caution,” he concluded.

Author Fatima Bhutto questioned the status of aid activities in the areas affected by floods after “horrible” disasters.

The former Pakistan captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed, said: “Allah, protects KPK, protects Pakistan. Grante refuge for homeless people, heals the injured and give patience to those who lost their loved ones. Amen.”

Other Cricket players also went to their social media accounts to pray for the victims and ask for accelerated actions to rescue and rehabilitate the communities affected by floods.
