CEO’s daughter of Crypto Exchange, Nieto, attacked in the attempted kidnapping of Paris

The daughter and her grandson of an Exchange CEO of French crypto were attacked in a failed kidnapping attempt, which adds to the growing number of kidnapping cases related to cryptography in the country, France 24 reported Tuesday.

A widely shared video on social networks showed the attempt, in which three masked men fought against women and another person to the ground in Paris. The owner of a store intervened, stirring a fire extinguisher, and the attackers surrendered, driving in two people waiting. France 24 identified the exchange of encryption as Paymium.

The attack remains previously, successful, kidnapping in the country. In January, David Ballard, co -founder of the Ledger cryptographic developer, was rescued after being kidnapped with his wife from his home. In May, the father of a French millionaire crypto was kidnapped and rescued days later. Four suspects were arrested at that time, the BBC reported. Both men had a cut finger.

Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said Wednesday that he plans to meet with French cryptography entrepreneurs to discuss how to protect them after the increase in kidnappers aimed at wealthy people with cryptographic ties in France. The Paris Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation into the attack, Reuters reported.

“These units within the agencies of application of the law have been very successful in making some people accounts in those cases of kidnapping,” said the CEO of Chainalyse, Jonathan Levin, in a consensus on Wednesday in response to a question about the worldwide kidnapping of the rescue trend. “I think the message must leave for these payments to be traceable.”
