Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to the National Assembly on Monday was marked by strong protests by opposition members, turning the session into a scene of chaos.
The assembly session, chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, descended into chaos as lawmakers belonging to opposition parties chanted slogans and waved banners in support of their party founder.
The members’ protests included loud chants of “Ooo Ooo”, which provoked harsh reactions in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) seats.
In response, PML-N lawmakers formed a protective barrier around the prime minister and responded with their own slogans, further escalating tensions.
The assembly venue resembled a “fish market,” with heated exchanges between members of rival parties.
Amid the uproar, President Ayaz Sadiq adjourned the session until 2 pm the next day.
