Chaudhry appointed as interim president of Wapda

The Government appointed Asghar Chaudhry on Saturday as an interim president of the Water Development Authority and Power (WAPDA) after the resignation of Lieutenant Gen (RETD) Sajjad Ghani earlier in the day.

A notification issued by the Ministry of Water Resources confirmed the appointment of Chaudhry. Ghani served as president of Wapda for almost three years before resigning.

Chaudhry previously served as interim president of Wapda in 2022 after Lieutenant Gen (RETD) Muzamil Hussain resigned due to “personal reasons.”
