Islamabad:
The Senator of PTI, Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, presented on Tuesday a request in the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC), requesting a production order to attend the sessions of the Senate.
The petition establishes that Chaudhry was arrested in relation to the incidents of May 9 and is currently being held in Lahore prison. He argued that, as a senator, he has the constitutional right to attend the Senate and the joint parliamentary sessions.
Chaudhry has urged the court to allow its participation in all Senate procedures. The petition appoints the Ministry of Interior, the Secretariat of the Senate, the Punjab Ig prisons, the Superintendent of the Lahore and Islamabad IGP prison as respondents in the case.
