Chichawatni:
Okanwala Bangla police arrested an alleged thief who had been injured in a meeting on Wednesday, while his accomplice escapes.
A spokesman said the police had received information that two armed men had stolen Ghulam Abbas, a resident of the 157/9L village of his motorcycle, effective and mobile phone.
Police chased the thieves, but opened fire against the staff in the Kameer area. In the retaliation shot, one of the suspects, identified as Shehbaz Jani, was injured, while the other managed to escape.
Police recovered the motorcycle, cash, telephone and illegal weapons of possession of the injured suspect, said the spokesman. He said that a search operation had been launched to arrest the other suspect.
