“I’m good with three for now,” he told reporters Tuesday. “Maybe we’ll see later, but my goal was always three, so we’ve had three, and we’ll stay there for a while and see if we need to come back and get another one later.”

The family already has two children: Bronze and Sterling. Mahomes talked about how Brittany was doing after the birth of her newborn and how the other siblings are handling it.

“It’s been great. I mean, I’m just rooting. Brittany crushed it,” he said. “It’s been great to welcome another girl into our family and see how my other kids react to her and having a sissy and stuff like that. It’s been a lot of fun, and it was great that football was on TV when I was on.” He wasn’t at the hospital, so I got to see him a little bit. “Brittany was kind enough to let us watch football while she was preparing to give birth to our second daughter.”

Mahomes added that he couldn’t say if it has become easier to handle since Brittany has taken on the workload of caring for the kids at home.

“I don’t even want to say that because Brittany is doing everything, so I’m just trying to support her,” he said. “No, it was great that we had the week off just because you can really focus on being in the hospital and being in the moment.

“It’s a special moment that I know a lot of moms and dads have experienced, and that’s not forgotten, so I’m glad I was able to be there and support the best I can.”

Mahomes now has to focus on the task at hand on the field: defeating the Houston Texans and advancing to the AFC Championship for potentially the seventh consecutive time.
