Children between six dead in rains

The sudden floods caused by torrential rains in the areas of the country continued to wreak havoc on Wednesday, since 10 people were dragged into a swollen stream in Hassan Abdal, while the authorities challenged the heavy monzón’s downpours in the Kaghan Valley to rescue 160 banked passengers, officials said.

The tragedy hit Jhary Kas, Hassan Abdal, when a vehicle that transported 10 people was swept by sudden flood in a local current. The authorities said that the rescue 1122 divers had recovered four bodies, all Wah Cantt’s women, while the search continued by a missing child.

The deceased included three sisters: Kinza, Nazia and Sabare Bibi. The fourth victim was identified as Aiman Bibi. A four -year -old boy, Mustafa, is still missing. The search was temporarily suspended late at night, but it was expected to resume early in the morning, according to rescue authorities.

The initial reports suggest that the family returned from a wedding ceremony when the incident occurred. His vehicle was caught in a sudden and strong water current caused by recent heavy rains, which led to dangerously high water levels in the current.

In another tragic incident in the middle of the awnings of the monsoon, a mud house collapsed in Darveshabad, Balakot (Abbottabad district), killing two girls. The locals brought the girls out of the rubble, but succumbed to their wounds.

Further north, the Mansehra district administration, the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) and the National Road Authority (NHA) worked during the night to rescue more than 160 travelers and restore traffic between the tourist places of Jalkhad, Barwai and Besar.

The authorities declared that tourists and passengers bound for Gilgit were stranded after sudden floods in local currents.

“The administration staff of KDA, NHA and the district worked in the middle of heavy rains and cleared the road after 12 hours,” said Kda Moazzam Khan official to Express PAkGazette.

The Balakot assistant commissioner, Nadir Khan, added that rescue personnel 1122 waded through the flooded stream near kissing to reach the trapped in their vehicles. “All people were safely evacuated at night and moved to nearby hotels,” Khan said.

Rescue teams provided first aid to eight people suffering from minor injuries, physical exhaustion, hypoglycemia and vomiting. Fortunately, no serious victims were reported.

The heavy rains of the current monsoon have created dangerous conditions in several tourist destinations, increasing the risk of road blockages, landslides and floods in low and mountainous areas.
