Chris Kluwe arrest: the former NFL piciator speaks after an act of ‘peaceful civil disobedience’

Chris Kluwe, a former NFL betler who was arrested during a meeting of the City Council of Huntington Beach, California, said Wednesday that he wants other officials to “begin to participate in civil disobedience.”

The NFL veteran spoke against a plaque with an acronym “Maga” that was placed outside the city library for its 50th anniversary. The plaque will have the “magical”, “attractive”, “galvanizing” and “adventurers” words next to each other. He will also read: “Through hope and change, our nation has become better to the golden age of making the United States great again!”

The former NFL player later made his “peaceful civil disobedience” when he ran to the council members before being arrested and carried out by police officers. He was later accused of interrupting an assembly.

Kluwe has been a long -standing critic of President Donald Trump and compared the “Make America Great Again” campaign with a “Nazi movement.” He told the Daily pilot on Wednesday that he wanted other “elected Democratic officials” to follow him.

“I want our chosen Democratic officials to begin to participate in civil disobedience,” he told The Outlet. “People must be aware that what is happening with this administration is taking us on a really dark path. At this time, no one is willing to step forward and do it. So, if I want to ask them to do it, then I I have to be willing to do it too. “

Kluwe added criticism to the members of the Council.

“People are talking because that’s the American,” he said. “You are a public citizen, your voice must be heard. But it is very discouraging when your elected officials do not listen to your voice …

“It is deeply not American to do what this advice is doing, and I think there are many people in this community that understand it. At a very visceral level, what we are seeing is not how the United States is supposed to work.”
