Acer has announced seven new Chromebook laptops on its extensive affordable productivity line and media machines.
Announced in a press release, Acer Chromebook Plus and Acer Chromebook Plus Enterprise Devices have been described as the “ideal option for technology lovers, young professionals, students and teachers.”
The seven recently announced Acer Chromebook models have an incorporated Google, and it is claimed that the machines have “duplicate the speed, memory and storage” when “compared to the previous models.”
The prices range from € 329 (around $ 430 / £ 275) to € 729 (around $ 800 / £ 610) with the Acer Chromebook 311 tab at the lower end and Acer Chromebook Plus Enterprise 514 at the upper end of the spectrum. The availability begins from May to July 2025, with official prices and availability of the United States and the United Kingdom that is probably revealed closer to the time.
Starting with the Acer Chromebook Plus range, it includes three new laptops, all with intimate ultra processors inside. The conventional offer is Acer Chromebook Plus 514, with an Intel Core 3 N355 processor, a 14 -inch Wuxga screen and a 1080p webcam. A version is also available with an Intel Core 7 processor, a QHD (1440p) webcam and a claimed 17 -hour battery life.
Acer Chromebook Plus 516 uses a 16 -inch Wuxga screen, with a 1080p webcar and Google Ai inside. The three models come with 12 months from Google Gemini Advanced, 2TB of cloud storage and other benefits of the GOOGLE ONE PREMIUM PLAN as standard.
Acer Chromebook Plus Enterprise’s range also comes in three configurations; Enterprise 514 is available with an Intel Core 3 N355 or Intel Core 7 processor, a 14 -inch screen and the choice of a 1080p or QHD webcam (1440p).
Acer Chromebook Plus Enterprise 516 also has an Intel Core 7 processor, a 16 -inch Wuxga screen and a QHD webcam. The biggest difference seems to be the weight and thickness compared to the most range, with 3 pounds (1.4 kg) of weight and less than 18 mm (0.7 inches) thick.
The last of the newly announced Acer Chromebooks is the revised model Tab 311. Unlike the other models, it is not fed by a CPU Ultra Core Intel Core, but the mediatek Kompanio 520 processor 520 tested and true, with a storage of 128 GB and an LPDDRX memory of up to 8GB.
Despite the low -end specifications, it presents a 10.95 -inch IPS Wuxga screen, so the part will be seen with its humble specifications that are more than enough for workloads based on the Google ecosystem website.
Chromebooks are becoming more powerful
Acer’s last alignment could be quick enough to rival some of the best chromebooks available in 2025, especially those models that use an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. Traditionally, chromebooks are laptops of low and affordable range for children, students and professionals, since Chromeos is based exclusively on the web, which means that it is not necessarily a need for the power to define the power that defines the power that defines the power that defines the power that defines the power that defines the power that defines the power of the MacBooks and X86 machines based on Windows.
That said, the use of Intel Core Ultra processors means that the latest Acer Chromebooks will be substantially faster in web navigation, media reproduction, text processing and other productivity tasks in contrast to Intel Celeron and Mediatek processors older than we generally see in machines that cost $ 300 / £ 300 to $ 700 / £ 700 of other manufacturers.
With the approximate price revealed together with the availability, it looks like Chromebooks since the viable alternatives to Windows and Mac Machines will offer more competition. From the specifications provided, they sound as a good value, but we will not know how they work and compare with their competition until we are going to be practical later in the year.
So it can be the intensive chrome of RAM (and chrome browsers), it sounds like a little more power is very delayed. While it is unlikely that they rival the best laptops and the best ultrabooks, they sound as solid offers for the conscious consumer of the wallet who wants value for money.
