His family shared a statement in which they requested privacy: “Chuck’s love story with music has been characterized by his unlimited energy, shameless enthusiasm and pure joy that radiated from the stage.”
“His appreciation for his faithful fans of the world was genuine as evidenced by the frequency with which he would sit on the edge of the stage after a concert during the time it took to sign autographs for fans who stayed to meet him and the band,” he added.
“Chuck Mangione’s family is deeply sad to share that Chuck died peacefully while sleeping at his home in Rochester, New York, on July 22, 2025,” said the message.
