Islamabad:
The ICI organized on Thursday its annual national peace conference of Ulema and Mashaikh in relation to the sacred month of Muharram reaffirming its commitment to peace, unity and intersection harmony under the framework of the national narrative “Paigham-E-Pakistan”.
During the conference, the ulema and the Mashaikh unanimously supported a code of conduct that emphasizes that each sect has the right to preach their beliefs, while the discourse of hate, incitement and bring to the law to the hands themselves would not be tolerated. The scholars agreed that the authority to declare an apostate (Takfir) to any individual lies only in the courts.
