
Cillian Murphy will play the most emotional role in the next Netflix movie Steve.
The Oscar winner will play the role of Steve, a reform teacher who fights to prevent his institution from closing, while fighting with his mental health.
Netflix has released Murphy’s first image in Stevewhich is based on the acclaimed novel 2023 of Max Porter Shy.
The film is directed by the Belgian filmmaker Tim Mients, famous for Small things like these, and produced by Cillian Murphy, Alan Moloney and Tina Pawlik.
It is worth mentioning that it is said that paper is Murphy’s most emotionally complex role so far.
According to the transmission giant, “set in the mid -90s, Steve is a reinvention of Max Porter’s bestseller Sunday Times.
“While Steve struggles to protect the integrity of the school and the imminent closure, we are witnessing that they deal with their own mental health,” they added more.
The film is scheduled for its premiere in Netflix on October 3, 2025.
