Cinemas fight like LED, mobile phones take over

Islamabad:

The traditional film experience is quickly losing its charm, since the public makes LEDs and mobile screens more and more to watch their favorite films. The charm that once was the shock absorber of the people full of people and the magic of the big screen is slowly fading.

This change in the spectator preferences has generated concerns about the future of cinema in Pakistan, and the industry faces a significant challenge in maintaining its relevance. In the center of this change is the emergence of affordable smartphones and LED televisions, which have revolutionized how people consume entertainment.

With the comfort of transmitting films and programs at any time, the public is no longer restricted by film schedules, which makes home see a much more attractive option.

The cinema enthusiast Sohail Khan said: “People prefer to watch movies in their terms, without the discomfort of the theater schedules and multitudes. I prefer to watch movies on my mobile, it is convenient and cozy.” He pointed out how technological advances have mainly remodeled entertainment consumption.

Another avid spectator, Ihsan Sikander, added: “LEDs offer a better visualization experience, and cinemas are still too expensive. Why would I spend money on expensive tickets when I can enjoy the same movie from home?” He suggested that cinemas need to reinvent themselves to remain competitive against home entertainment options.

The film owner, Mukhtar Baig, recognized the decrease in the tread in theaters, attributing it to the increase in transmission services and affordable technology. “Theaters must adapt to the habits of evolving spectators and offer unique and immersive experiences,” he said. “This change in preferences raises serious questions about the future of cinema in the country.”

As the transmission becomes the norm, interested parties agree that traditional cinema must innovate to survive in a changing entertainment panorama.
