Islamabad:
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has asked officials to accelerate the update work in progress to transform the CDA nursery into the ‘Hub Gardenia’.
The president of the CDA, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the CDA nursery together with the Member Engineering, the Member Environment and other Senior CDA officers to review the ongoing work.
The president declared that the main objective of the project is to position Islamabad as a key player in the horticulture sector.
He directed relevant officials to accelerate the construction of modern flowers, who will not only beautify the city but will also serve as a recreational attraction for residents.
In addition, he instructed the construction of advanced and climate controlled greenhouses to optimize plants research and support initiatives. In addition, a fabric cultivation laboratory will be established to spread new plant species using avant -garde techniques.
A dedicated floral exhibition area will exhibit seasonal and out of season for public visualization.
The president of CDA stressed that the center of Gardenia aligns with the efforts of the CDA to improve the green coverage of Islamabad and promote environmental sustainability. The project is expected to generate employment opportunities in the horticulture sector while establishing new international reference points for such facilities.
He directed the completion of the work within the timeline, ensuring compliance with global standards.
He reiterated that the initiative would raise the horticultural landscape of Islamabad and serve as a model for the region.
