The legend of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Clayton Kershaw, came to the weird air on Wednesday night, becoming the twentieth player to reach 3,000 strikeouts for his career.
It was a suspense night in a Dodger Stadium with exhausted tickets considering that Kershaw only had two strikeouts against the Chicago White Sox when he entered the sixth entrance. He had 2,999 strikeouts, and had already received two outs in the frame with his tone count reaching triples.
But, in that 100th launch, Kershaw got Vinny Capra to spread and the crowd became a ball.

Kershaw was able to taste the moment, since the game stopped with a complete ovation of the benches and the crowd to celebrate the occasion.
“It’s a bit more difficult when you try to get people out,” Kershaw said after the 5-4 victory in Los Angeles, according to ESPN. “I never had to do that before.”

The victory was also an effort behind, with Freddie Freeman delivering a single in the ninth entrance when the Dodgers needed three races to win.
After the game, Kershaw was seen with a champagne flute in the Club House, where ESPN informed that he told everyone that his achievement would mean nothing without them celebrating with him.

In the sacred group of 20 men, Kershaw is just the fourth left -hander that has reached 3,000 strikeouts. It joins Randy Johnson, Steve Carlton and CC Sabathia on that list.
Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander are the only active pitchers with Kershaw who have achieved the feat.
Manager Dave Roberts set out to let Kershaw be all the time he could to make sure he achieved his goal at home.
“I was going to give him all the opportunities to do it at home,” Roberts said.

He took it for a while, Kershaw said that “he would prefer to have done it in the first one,” but the satisfaction was clear on Kershaw’s face after Capra was attacked in strikes.
