QUETTA:
Baluchistan’s prime minister, Sarfraz Bugti, ordered a quick and exhaustive investigation into the brutal murder of a man and a woman, after the circulation of an online video that has triggered national outrage, arose on Sunday.
The disturbing video, widely shared on social networks, shows the apparent murder of two people in an unleashed place. The footage has caused public anger and demands an urgent action. The incident is perceived as an honor murder.
In a statement issued by the Secretariat of the Principal Minister, Bugti instructed the agencies of application of the law to locate the crime scene and stop all those involved without delay.
“The rule of law will not be compromised. Those who challenge the State’s court order will be firmly. No one will be allowed to take the law in their own hands,” Bugti said.
Baluchistan’s government spokesman Shahid Rind, condemned the murders, describing them as “reprehensible at all levels” and a “serious insult to social values and human dignity.”
He assured the public that the provincial government would take all legal measures to ensure that justice is delivered.
“The Baluchistan government will not continue to be a silent spectator to such cruelty. All legal means will be used to take those responsible to justice,” said Rind.
The provincial government has also appealed to the public to obtain help to identify the suspects. Citizens are urged to share any information that can help locate the people involved.
