The new markets, aimed at offering essential food at reduced prices, will be established in areas such as Nowshera Warkan, Burewala, Kabirwala, Sangla Hill and Jalalpur. Additional markets will also be established in Bahawalpur, Attock and Murree.

The projects are scheduled for end in August, with administrations of the district instructed to assign land for the bazaars.

These markets will also be driven by solar energy, which is expected to reduce electricity costs by up to 70%, with savings transmitted to the public in the form of lower prices.

An approval of more than RS690 million for the conversion of solar energy of the bazaars has been granted.

The initiative is in line with the vision of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to eliminate inflation and provide low -income families and middle class access to affordable foods.
