CM PUNJAB launches the insulin card for diabetic children

Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched an insulin card program for children suffering from congenital diabetes type I.

He launched the program together with Pakistan Post riders, visiting the children’s houses to deliver the cards. According to a statement, he went to the houses of Wasay Adnan in Sabzazar, and Zainab Waheed and Zain Shahzad in Jamil Town to give them the cards.

The prime minister also delivered insulin, glucometer strips and needle boxes to patients.

The youngest among the three brothers, five -year -old washing suffers from diabetes by birth. The main minister also issued directives to guarantee the control and treatment of Zain’s eye. Upon arrival, a large crowd met on the roofs and streets. The CM also took selfies with the girls on request.

Speaking with the families of the beneficiaries, he said: “I can understand the pain and anxiety of children suffering from diabetes. The free insulin program for young children has been launched on the genuine demand of poor parents and the need of children. Under the vision of ‘Sehatmand Punjab’, the government will communicate with all children who cannot buy medicine or insulin.”

She stressed: “Children’s health is of great importance for the Punjab government. For the first time, children are provided to them glucometers and trial strips along with insulin. Children are the brilliant future of the nation and all resources are placed at their disposal. The rapid propagation of diabetes among children is a great concern.”

The prime minister was informed in an informative session about the program that during the first phase, 1500 children will receive insulin at their doors. Riders of Pakistan Post will verify the insulin card scanning in an application. After scanning, insulin will be delivered to patients.
