Perséfone, one of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre’s (CMLL) top competitors in the women’s division, will compete in the company’s historic show during Slam Fest next month.
CMLL will present its first independent show in the United States at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas as fans descend on the city for days of professional wrestling action. For over 90 years, CMLL only presented joint shows in the US as the company is based outside of Mexico.
But CMLL’s wrestling style will be showcased with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling (TJPW), House of Glory (HOG), World Wonder Ring Stardom and Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.

“I think it’s very exciting,” Persephone told Pak Gazette Digital about her participation in the historic show. “I think we all know the kind of importance of that week. It’s the center of wrestling at that time. I think it’s all the companies, promotions, whether they’re independent, small, big, we all come together just for this giant week of wrestling. I think it’s a really great thing that CMLL is now a part of it, taking their part.
“As an independent wrestler in the past, I would join from time to time, maybe a smaller independent show. It would be part of the week, but it didn’t compare to now. We are a bigger company. We are the biggest company in Mexico and I think we are expanding internationally to the point that now we are part of the Slam Fest, something that is a completely 100% American crowd that will be there. I think maybe people who are there just to watch. Lucha libre will know us because maybe they don’t know us as well as everyone else. So, I think it’s a really cool thing for CMLL as a company to expand, but I also think fans will be able to get to know different styles, different companies that maybe they haven’t heard of before.
The El Paso, Texas native has made a name for herself in recent years. He has been in CMLL since 2023 and has made sporadic appearances for All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor since 2025.
She won the 2025 Amazonas Grand Prix and won the CMLL Amazonas Universal Championship in 2024 following Dalys La Caribeña, La Jarochita, Lluvia and La Catalina.

Persephone highlighted the importance of collaborations with other companies.
“I think there is something in these collaborations that we can now expand. We know each other very well,” he explained. “Now we can go into different territories. We can show what we can do, but at the same time, I think when you go to a different country, you mix styles. We bring Lucha Libre and then we face US stars with more American backgrounds. Then we go to Japan and we face a different style.
“I think it’s really cool on a professional level, but even as a fan, I think it’s a great time to be a fan. I think, right now, it’s not just this what’s out there and that’s it, this is all you can see in terms of professional wrestling. I think there’s a lot out there right now and with collaborations from all these different companies, you can broaden your scope of interest when it comes to wrestling. You get a little bit of everything and big events like Slam Fest or Forbidden Doors or Fantastica Manias, that are real collaborations of companies, I think they are perfect for fans. I think as a kid watching wrestling, seeing a lot of different styles and seeing a masked wrestler looking at this big American guy and this Japanese guy, you get a little bit of everything and I think it’s cool to be a fan.
Perséfone earned the right to face Mercedes Moné for the CMLL Women’s World Championship on Friday at La Noche de Las Amazonas. The two met in October for the title, but Moné retained it.
Persephone told Pak Gazette Digital that she has not interacted with Moné outside of her matches, but she followed that generation of women’s professional wrestling closely when she was younger.
“I was still pretty young when she debuted and when she was growing up the way I think I am now. I watched her grow up the way that maybe other people are watching mine right now. And there’s definitely a lot of things that I could say that I took away from her in terms of just being smart. Even in this case, in this match, she’s the smallest, and I think in a lot of cases she was the smallest in terms of height and physique. I just wasn’t going to out-strength people. But what did I always look at her? technique and his style is just being smart.
It’s cleverness that earned Persephone praise from AEW co-founder Tony Khan in February.
“As far as young wrestlers go, Persephone has come in, who works with AEW and CMLL. I think Persephone is fantastic,” Khan said on the radio during Super Bowl week in San Francisco, via Slam Wrestling. “She also wrestled for me in ROH, and I think Persefone has all the tools. She’s a big star for CMLL and can also be a big star in AEW.”

The 24-year-old said Khan’s praise meant a lot.
“I think it’s something, it’s going to sound very arrogant and I’m not sorry, but I think throughout my entire career, even before professional wrestling, I always knew that I was a good athlete. I had scholarships in other sports before I decided to leave those sports to just focus on medicine and professional wrestling. So, since I was a kid I always knew that I am a great athlete. In terms of sports, if I really try hard, I can be great at that sport. And so, I always knew that I was good at what I did.

“But every time I hear it, and especially from someone in a position like Tony, like he’s your boss. He’s someone who’s obviously much higher than just, no offense, but like the fan of an indie show. ‘You’re great.’ ‘Thank you.’ But someone like Tony tells you, I think it feels a lot more special because it’s kind of a validation of everything I’ve worked for and people at a higher level or obviously this much more experience than I have tell you that they see something in you and that gives you the confidence that I need to keep pushing, I need to keep going.
Slam Fest festivities will take place April 15-18 in Las Vegas.
