CNN will use Kalshi prediction markets in all its news coverage

CNN has named prediction market operator Kalshi as its official data partner, giving the network access to real-time probabilities of political, cultural and economic events as interest in market-based forecasting grows within the US media.

The collaboration, announced Tuesday US time, will incorporate Kalshi data into CNN programming and newsroom workflows. The network plans to incorporate Kalshi’s forecasts into on-air analysis and introduce a live ticker that displays the latest market-implied odds during segments using the data.

The CNN integration will be led by Harry Enten, the network’s chief data analyst, who specializes in probability-based polls and reports. According to Kalshi, Enten will incorporate market probabilities into its coverage as an additional data point to assess the likelihood of political or cultural events.

The deal also gives CNN’s editorial, data and production teams access to Kalshi’s real-time feeds, which the network says will support chart generation, provide context for reporting and facilitate the development of stories about changing expectations in American politics and other major news cycles.

Kalshi recently closed a $1 billion funding round, which valued the precision market at $11 billion.
